What we do

We’re more than a creative agency, but also manage a community platform of creatives from a diverse range of disciplines and backgrounds. We do this because we know original creative work comes from different brands working together, and this working model ensures we are inclusive by design. You’ll quickly learn how we work with people outside our team to make sure our work is rooted deep in subculture through methods like co-creation and qualitative research.

Here are some of the things we do: 

  • Advertising campaigns: developing concepts that tell stories for brands
  • Creative production: organising shoots and creating the videos, stills, pop ups and experiences that people engage with.
  • Brand and audience strategy: we help our clients understand how their brands can resonate with different audiences – often niche. This can involve lots of research and analysis.
  • Design and visual identities: we help our clients show up in front of people in a beautiful and compelling way, using graphic design, sound, 3D, motion and animation to do this.

Responsibilities

So far we’ve grown with our creative and strategy team chipping in to manage the client relationships and projects. Now we’re at an exciting time in our growth and are ready to bring in a motivated, organised person to help manage our projects and clients. 

We’ll need someone who's as passionate as we are about inclusive creative work, and who’s as happy chipping into a slide deck as being a cheery face on emails. We work quickly, so you’ll need to be energised by a fast-paced environment and able to adapt to new information quickly. But don’t worry: you’ll have 9 people with you who’ll always have your back.

As our account planner you’ll need to

Be the go-to person for our clients. 

  • You’ll develop relationships with our great clients to understand their needs
  • You’ll communicate information quickly and seamlessly. 
  • Longer term you’ll help find new commercial opportunities for bigger and better work. 

Help build out our collaborator network. 

  • You’ll find exciting, interesting people at the edge of culture to help us come up with and deliver the best work. 
  • You’ll help us liaise with contractors and suppliers.
  • Manage creative projects from start to finish, bringing an eye for detail and efficiency to our project process. And keeping everything running smoothly and on time. Longer term you’ll feed into cost estimates and help with budgeting.
  • Create and maintain accurate timing plans
  • Help senior team members manage team resourcing
  • Organise and run meetings, internally and externally

We’re a startup, so we all chip into other areas of the business - strategy into creative, creative into production, everyone into new business. We’d love for you to help in other areas too, like:

  • Representing Weirdo at events
  • Bringing new ideas and building on existing ones

Required skills and experience

Relationship building

  • You’re a people person, who’s happy speaking to anyone. You’re able to adjust your tone for different personality types and get on with just about everyone.
  • You are a natural collaborator, and are good at getting people to agree on a way forward.

Communication:

  • You’re great at communicating, and are able to digest information and pass it on in a clear and concise way - be that by email or in person or in a presentation
  • You have a strong level of English-language fluency

Culturally-in tune

  • You’re curious about subcultures and new trends, and feel like you’re up to speed with emerging collectives and culture
  • You’re interested in sport, music or fashion
  • Unafraid to meet and speak with new people and communities

Depending on experience

  • Commercially-minded
  • Some experience creating or drafting budgets and cost estimates
  • Familiarity with marketing and brand strategy 
  • Knowledge of digital media platforms:
  • Understanding how brands can use paid and organic media to reach audiences with relevant messages
  • Up-to-date with latest platform developments across Meta, YouTube and TikTok
  • Some experience with campaign and/or brand strategy

Other important, but unoriginal, things

  • Highly independent and proactive
  • An eye for quality and craft
  • Super-organised with high attention to detail
  • Comfortable across all Microsoft and Google Workspace apps

Other stuff

  • We can only hire people with the right to work in the UK.
  • All team members get 25 days holiday per year (pro rata for part-time roles). 
  • We all work in the office on a Tuesday and Wednesday.
  • You can work flexibly and from home at other times, but you can also come into the office during weekdays (we’re based in Shoreditch).
  • Friendly dogs are welcome.
  • You’ll get a Macbook.
